Nach ihrem EP-Release „In event of moon disaster“ im April 2023 melden sich Twins in Colour nun mit einer Doppel-Single zurück, die die Grenzen zwischen Post-Punk und Psychedelic, Meeresgrund und Großstadt verwischt.
„Hit by an(other) iceberg“ ist beides: das Alter Ego eines früheren Dreampop-Stückes der Band sowie die Neuinterpretation der Titanic-Tragödie von 1912. Mit Noise-Elementen, verzerrtem Bass, wuchtigen Drumsounds und kühlem Gesang kehrt diese Version die düstere Seele des ursprünglichen Songs nach außen. Eine Reise zum tiefsten Punkt des Meeres, von dem aus man sich abstoßen kann.
„Eternal cigarette break“ wandelt auf den Pfaden des 1960er Psychedelic-Garage-Sounds und erforscht das Szenario der ewigen Pause: Rauchen gehen und nicht zur Arbeit zurückkehren, Spazierengehen und niemals mehr nach Hause kommen, sich in der Stadt und im Rausch verlieren – ohne Rückfahrschein.
Der deutlich aggressivere Tonfall dieser beiden Home-Studio-Aufnahmen, die knirschenden Gitarren und schreienden Noise-Effekte lassen diese Doppel-Single wie ein Echo wirken – das Echo auf eine Welt kurz vor der Explosion.

Following their EP release "In event of moon disaster" in April 2023, Twins in Colour are now back with a double single that blurs the boundaries between post-punk and psychedelic, seabed and big city.

"Hit by an(other) iceberg" is both: the alter ego of one of the band's earlier dreampop songs and a reinterpretation of the Titanic tragedy of 1912. With noise elements, distorted bass, powerful drum sounds and cool vocals, this version brings the dark soul of the original song to the surface. A journey to the deepest point of the sea from which to push off.

"Eternal cigarette break" walks the path of the 1960s psychedelic garage sound and explores the scenario of the eternal break: having a smoke and never returning to work, going for a walk and never coming home again, losing yourself in the city and in intoxication - without a return ticket.

The distinctly more aggressive tone of these two home studio recordings, the crunching guitars and screaming noise effects make this double single feel like an echo - the echo of a world about to explode.
