DIE ANDACHT ist geprägt durch eine Affinität zum kontemplativ meditativen Minimalismus. Mit ausschließlich elektronischer Gitarre und elektronischem Bass besetzt, entfalten sich Klangbänder von unmerklicher Sukzession und Detailreichtum.

Im April 2022 erscheint nach intensiver einjähriger Arbeit das Debütalbum des Duos beim Leipziger Label All my ghosts (CD/MC/DIG).

DIE ANDACHT entstand im Sommer 2020 als Sideproject der beiden Wahl-Leipziger Markus Rom (Oh No Noh, Philipp Rumsch Ensemble) und Philipp Martin (Glotze, Alin Coen Band). Fasziniert davon, die Limitierungen dieser Besetzung in Gänze auszuloten, entwickelten die beiden Musiker Stücke, die ihre Inspiration bei Brian Eno als auch bei Kompositionen von Erik Satie oder Steve Reich finden konnten. Die Klangsprache reicht von offenen, aleatorische Prinzipien über festgelegte repetitive Strukturen.

Entstanden ist ein Album, das es mit Leichtigkeit und Einfallsreichtum versteht, große Bögen zu spannen und zwischen kammermusikalisch-klein und sphärisch-groß zu changieren.

DIE ANDACHT is shaped by an affinity for contemplative, meditative minimalism. Sound baths of imperceptible flow and detail unfold using exclusively electric guitar and electric bass.

In April 2022, after a year of intense research, the duo’s self-titled debut album will be released by the Leipzig-based label All my ghosts (CD/MC/DIG).

DIE ANDACHT formed in the summer of 2020 as a side project with Markus Rom (Oh No Noh, Philipp Rumsch Ensemble) and Philipp Martin (Glotze, Alin Coen Band). Fascinated by the idea of exploring the limitations of this line-up, both musicians developed musical pieces which found their inspiration in the aesthetics of the work of Brian Eno as well as in the compositions of Erik Satie and Steve Reich. The tonal language ranges from open and aleatoric principles to fixed structures.

This album emerged with ease and ingenuity allowing the artists to bridge gaps between intimate acoustic sounds and epic and affected electronics.
