Twins In Colour sind eine mittlerweile zum Quartett gewachsene Band aus Leipzig. Nach ihrer hervorragenden letzten Veröffentlichung „The Spring Is Always Ready“ (Atoria Records/2021) geht es auf ihrer neuen EP weiter in die Tiefe.

Den sechs Stücken auf „They Haven`t Built The Ships We Need“ hört man die Wärme an, die im Entstehungsprozess und bei den Aufnahmen geflossen ist.
Twins schreiben Lieder über Liebe im 3/4-Takt, über den manchmal beschwerlichen Weg des Erwachsenwerden und wie es ist sich fremd zu fühlen an diesem einen Ort, den man niemals sein Zuhause nennen wird.

Die Stücke sind meist sparsam instrumentiert. Gitarre, hier und da ein paar Beats, eine Synthfläche am genau richtigen Fleck und die wunderschönen Stimmen der Sänger*innen Johanna, Leoni und Erik. Mehr braucht es nicht, damit diese Songs funktionieren und einen ganz tief drinnen berühren. Man möchte mit Twins In Colour gemeinsam eine Zigarette rauchen, auf dem Meeresboden schwimmen oder sie einfach umarmen.

Aufgenommen wurde die EP in Eigenregie. Das Nicht-Perfekte wird zelebriert, der Klang des Hauses als Stilmittel eingesetzt und manchmal hört man sogar einen Zug vorbeirauschen.

Auch wenn benannte Referenzen wie Mazzy Star, Hand Habbits, Elvis Depressedly oder The Smiths anklingen, Twins In Colour haben auf ihren letzten beiden Veröffentlichungen bereits ihre eigene Sprache gefunden.

„They Haven't Built The Ships We Need“ erscheint am 21.11.2021 digital und auf Kassette bei dem Label ALL MY GHOSTS.

Twins in Colour are a fourpiece from Leipzig. After a fabulous last EP on Atoria Records ("The Spring Is Always Ready") they got a new record ready to go.
You can feel the warmth, that must have flown while the recordings. Twins write songs about love in 3/4 time, about the way of growing up and how it feels to be an "intern in this life".

It doesn´t take much to make these songs work and touch you very deep inside. A guitar, a simple beat or a synth and the wonderful voices by singers Johanna, Leoni and Erik.
You want to smoke a cigarette with these guys, swim on the bottom of the sea with them or simply give them a hug.

They recorded these songs on their own in their reheasal room. It is not perfect, but it doesn´t has to be.
And even though the band can name some references like Mazzy Star, Hand Habbits, The Smiths etc., they have already found their own language on their last two Eps.

"They Haven´t Built The Ships We Need" will be out on Nov 21 2021 digitally and on tape via All My Ghosts.
